Love Seduced and Reduced

How did we get from Divine Love to 'desperately wicked?'

A heart divided–drawn by two conflicting narratives–chose wrongly.

Seduced by Satan, humanity made proud & selfish choices…departing from God…exchanging truth for a lie.

Here is the descent of the human heart from God.

Why is deception so powerful?

It manipulates our: Thoughts and Feelings,

Beliefs and Motives,

our Minds and our Hearts,

how we relate to both

Absolute Truth and Divine Love.

Who Satan cannot convince by argument, he will try to seduce.

The reason deception is so powerful, even when it is obvious, is because it twists the love that is in our hearts.

Deception is not just a mind game, it is a heart game.

At the end, it disillusions and disheartens this world of people who God so loves. Return to Him.

Disillusioned, Disheartened?

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek & lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Mat 11:28-30

When Satan offers to spoil you, he is using an oxymoron. Don't be fooled, he wants to sweep your house, not fill it, though fill it with kindling he might.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15

You may have good foundations, but do not build from there with lying vanities.

"Thou shalt not covet."

Covetousness, desire, lust, these seduce the heart, exchanging bread for stones and fish for serpents.

"Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." - 1 John 2:15 KJV

Be wise in God's eyes.

Understanding stands under God's authority.

Fear what you flatter, beware what you bash.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" - Isaiah 5:20

Our love can be twisted by loyalty, and turn us into liars, if God does not come first.

"For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? - Matthew 5:46 KJV

Regarding Transactional Relationships, notice Paul's attitude in 2 Corinthians 12:14-17.

"I seek not yours (your stuff), but you (your welfare)."

Other churches supported his outreach to theirs.

To borrow a phrase, 'He wasn't in it for the income, but...for the outcome.'

"The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?" - Jeremiah 17:9 KJV

Holy God knows it, and it grieves Him. What destroys you grieves Him.

Return, Friend, to our Savior, who loves you.

Return, Church, to your first love.
